This production facility will be the first CLT production facility in Ontario, greatly improving the availability of this growing, sustainable material in the Ontario market and directly creating 50 jobs in the St. Thomas area as well as approximately 240 jobs in the manufacturing, transportation, and logging sectors. The co‑elevate team was able to accommodate numerous pieces of large industrial equipment on the main slab, as well as providing efficient foundations for the structure.
This new, 135,000 sq. ft. cross laminated timber (CLT) production facility is comprised of a prefabricated steel frame on concrete foundations. co‑elevate was responsible for designing the footings, foundations, and preliminary design of office spaces, while the metal building above was designed by the prefabricated steel building fabricator.
