BOS Innovations is an industrial automation manufacturer taking on the challenges of advancing technology for the future. They have combined an industrial machine manufacturing space with their new corporate headquarters in this state-of-the-art facility.
The new manufacturing space in London’s southeast is 43,800 sq. ft. and is complemented by a 12,000 sq. ft. office area. BOS Innovations is one of the fastest growing companies in the industry in Canada and we are proud to have been part of their growing business.
The office structure comprises conventional steel framing and load-bearing masonry walls while the manufacturing area structure is a prefabricated steel frame on concrete foundations. co‑elevate’s scope included the complete structural design of the office, mezzanine, and foundations for the pre-engineered steel superstructure of the manufacturing area.
Some of the design challenges included a large trench running through the manufacturing area which prevented the use of tension ties or hairpin bars for lateral restraint of the prefabricated frames and angled geometry for the large wraparound front canopy that provides a modern look to the building face. The building has also been designed for future expansion as BOS Innovations continues to grow and expand.
