Meet the #SocialMediaTeam!
Today, we're taking a look behind the screen to introduce our Social Media Team!
Our goal is to increase visibility of all things Gray & Fick on social media to highlight our people, our projects, and our core values. Dylan brings experience in photography and web design and acts as our main content curator. He is also the lead pilot of our drone (Droney McDrone Face!). Rachel wears the hat of blogmaster and ensures that content is kept relevant and balanced between technical posts and social posts on our blog. Corey heads up the socials (Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn) and oversees the calendar. Together they bring a lot of energy and fresh ideas to the table.
Let's meet the team!

What is your favourite thing about social media?
My favourite thing about social media is how you can take a small moment in time and turn it into something beautiful. I have always used social media as a way to express myself and to remember the beautiful moments in my own life, big or small. I also love to see the creative ways in which others express themselves. Social media is kind of amazing because it allows you to see the lives of others through their own eyes.
Why do you think social media is important in the engineering/construction industry?
I think social media is important in this industry because it can be used as a tool to showcase how fun and creative this line of work can be for those entering post-secondary, or the skilled trades! It can also be used to showcase the quality and scope of your work to potential clients, as well as be used to network with other individuals and companies in the industry.

What is your favourite thing about social media?
The power to see and interact with things from around the world. It's allowed me to draw inspiration in my photography from artists not just around me, but on entirely different continents shooting in extremely varied location and places, and to grow a lot thereof.
Why do you think social media is important in the engineering/construction industry?
A lot of people I know like to see cool buildings and bridges get built, but they're often limited to the biggest of the big that makes the news or the buildings around them. Allowing them to see more projects, whether in construction or complete, from all across the province can really help to show the public the impact that engineering and construction have on our environment and everyday lives. It also lets people see the trends in architecture and building, and in some cases to learn why those trends are occurring.

What is your favourite thing about social media?
Social media increases accessibility and can help to provide a sense of community especially in a world that is going more and more virtual. I love seeing people share their creativity and inspirations in all aspects of life as well as sharing in special moments with friends and family from across the globe.
Why do you think social media is important in the engineering/construction industry?
There is a huge demand for labour in the construction industry. I think that more presence on social media raises awareness of the industry as a whole and may help to encourage youth looking to the future to pursue a career in a skilled trade or engineering. It also gives an avenue to showcase our core values at G&F. Being involved and contributing to the betterment of our community has always been important to G&F and social media allows us to share those causes with a larger audience.
