The Richmond Medical Building is a mixed residential-institutional structure in the north end of London, ON. The main floor of the this 4 storey, 24,000 sq ft wood framed structure is dedicated to a pharmacy, medical services, and medical offices, while the upper floors contain residential units. Parking is provided using a mixture of surface and underground parking. The structure uses wood floor trusses with plywood sheathing to connect to load bearing wood stud bearing and shear walls which transfer loads to the conventional concrete foundations and footings. Residents can also enjoy the outdoors through the inclusion of exterior balconies for all units.
