BOS Innovations

This new build included a 44,000 sq. ft. manufacturing area and a 12,000 sq. ft. office area located in London, Ontario. BOS Innovations is an industrial automation integrator and one of the fastest growing companies in the industry in Canada.

The office structure is comprised of conventional steel framing and load-bearing masonry and the manufacturing area structure is a prefabricated steel frame on concrete foundations. Gray & Fick’s scope included the complete structural design of the office, mezzanine, and foundations for the pre-engineered steel superstructure. Some of the design challenges included a large trench running through the manufacturing area which prevented the use of tension ties or hairpin bars for lateral restraint of the prefabricated frames. There is also a large wraparound canopy at the front of the office space adding a modern look to the build.
