Teen Challenge Dining Hall
Community
The Teen Challenge Dining Hall is one storey, 6,500 square foot steel and masonry structure supported on conventional concrete footings. The building acts as a hub for the Teen Challenge Farm just outside London, ON, bringing together residents and staff for meals and other gatherings. Steel beams and a steel frame were used to create an open dining area and full height curtain wall at the west of the building, which provides wide views of the surrounding green space and farmland and adds plentiful light to the interior dining space. The views from the dining space create a strong connection with the surrounding nature while simultaneously producing a striking exterior appearance of the building rising from the ground.
