Entry Level Engineer in Training (EIT)

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer run calculations  to determine adequacy of structural elements.

  • Help prepare engineering documents for the design of structural systems.

  • Design structures in various building materials such as steel, concrete, timber and masonry.

  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.).

  • Prepare, technical specifications and reports.

  • Preform individually or as a team member under direct supervision of senior engineers

  • Occasional site work as required

  • Other duties as assigned/required

 

Minimum Skills, Qualifications & Experience

 

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a Canadian accredited program.

  • Working knowledge of applicable Canadian Standards and Codes (OBC, NBC, Timber, Concrete, Steel, Masonry, etc...)

  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABs, SAFE and RISA3D

  • Ability to read drawings

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office

  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions

  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites

  • Fluent in English

  • Eligible for registration with PEO
